Milwaukee - Seeking a good place to volunteer - research / Milwaukee history related / evenings & weekends?
I have a background in research (attended UW-Milwaukee) for a BSIR. I currently work at a historic Milwaukee company and would like to increase my knowledge of Milwaukee. I was fascinated by the public television documentary "making of Milwaukee" and would like to give back to the community--preserving history, and helping provide information to others. Where can I start my search for a non profit that will help me hoan my skills and appreciate 5-10 hours a week of free work during the evenings or weekends?

well you can try going to PBS....or MPTV I suppose would be what they are called here. They should have plenty of opportunities. You can also try volunteering for MPL (the public library system), I know the historic Central Library downtown has a lot of historical archives and such....
